aptos thread-lift

Appropriately nicknamed the “Lunchtime Face Lift”, the Aptos Thread Lift or Featherlift is a procedure using special suture threads, which counteracts the effects of aging by “lifting up” sagging skin on the face, forehead, and neck.

Who is a good candidate for Aptos Threads?

The candidate best suited for the Thread Lift technique is someone with mild to moderate sagging of the facial skin. Typical areas that can be addressed are the cheeks, jowls and the neck.

How is the procedure performed?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The APTOS threads are carefully inserted under the skin using a needle. The placement of the threads depends on the areas of the face that need lifting. As few as two threads per cheek will give you a noticeably lift. The main advantage of the thread lift is that there is considerably less downtime required than with the traditional facelift, there are no incisions, and the procedure will only take one hour.

What is the recovery like?

After the procedure the patient may return to work within a few days, although there may be minimal swelling and there is always a chance of bruising. Ideally try and keep an ice pack on the treated area for at least the first day following the procedure. It is important to avoid excessive facial movement, rubbing, or massaging of the treated areas for the first 3 weeks after the procedure..

What results can I expect?

There are often immediate results however, the effect of the treatment will continue to improve over several months as the collagen in the skin collects around the newly placed threads. The threads will leave no scars.

Are there any side-effects/risks?

Complications are very rare but include, the thread end working its way out of the entrance to the skin which is remedied by just trimming the protruding end. Patients on occasion may develop a pucker. This is easily treated with a gentle massage of the area.
